Music and productivity a coincidence?

Keys? check. Phone? Check. Wallet? Check. Headphones? Check. Now you may be wondering why I need to carry my headphones. Music is a way to escape from reality, music helps me accomplish my daily tasks, and surprisingly it helps me work more cooperatively with others. So the real questions to ask is why do we find so much pleasure in music and how does it affect us? It has been noted and researched that music allows us to work more productively and cooperatively with each other. The research revealed that music may have evolved as a way of fostering a sense of community and developing immediate empathetic concern. Moreover, music's power is deeply rooted in our brains and developed out of a need to empathize, create harmony, and more importantly, survive. shocking huh?
So how does Music help us get through our day and task?
It helps us finish our task much faster, however, if you are in the process of learning new information, make sure you pause your music or turn it off. Research has shown that it takes much more mental energy and focus in order to grasp a new concept. If you have already mastered a concept then by all means, listen to music, it will help your performance increase!
